The Best Businesses in the Corridor – 2024 Winners Revealed

Every summer, the Corridor Business Journal does a community-voted contest called "The Best of the Corridor." According to the website, the list is meant to be "a celebration of our region’s most beloved businesses." Earlier this month, the CBJ revealed all of their 2024 winners!

As far as restaurants go, there was one that came in first place in two different categories. Big Grove Brewery was named the number one pick in the 'Best Brewery/Winery/Distillery' category, and the Cedar Rapids Big Grove at 170 1st St SW was recognized as the 'Best New Restaurant.' It was also first runner-up in the 'Best Place for Business Lunch' category! Here are the rest of the restaurants that were chosen as 2024 winners:

• Best New Restaurant - Big Grove Brewery, Cedar Rapids
  • 1st Runner-Up - Pickle Palace, Cedar Rapids
  • 2nd Runner-Up - Mextizo, Cedar Rapids
• Best Brewery/Winery/Distillery: Big Grove Brewery
  • 1st Runner-Up - Cedar Ridge Winery & Distillery, Swisher
  • 2nd Runner-Up - Lion Bridge Brewing Company, Cedar Rapids
• Best Place for Business Lunch: Black Sheep Social Club, Cedar Rapids
  • 1st Runner-Up - Big Grove Brewery, Cedar Rapids
  • 2nd Runner-Up - Zeppelins, Cedar Rapids

There were actually 49 different categories included in the 19th annual Best of the Corridor Awards. Here are some of the other big winners:

• Best Golf Course - Elmcrest Country Club, Cedar Rapids
• Best Fine Arts Venue - Hancher Auditorium, Iowa City
• Best Local Internet Service Provider - Mediacom
• Best Hospital - Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids
• Best Banquet/Event Facility - The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, Cedar Rapids
• Best Auto Dealer - McGrath Family of Dealerships
• Best Bank - Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust
• Best Cultural Attraction - Brucemore, Cedar Rapids
