The Announcement

The owners of Comfort Food 154, Scott and Crystal, revealed on social media over the weekend that their time running a food truck has come to an end. The post reads:

"After much thoughtful consideration for both our customers and our own well-being, we have made the heartfelt decision to retire the Comfort Food 154 Food Truck.

This was not an easy decision. But for us, now feels like the right time to take a step back, slow down, and enjoy life in a new way."

The post goes on to thank the owners of two other local food trucks, O's Grill and Street Food Fighter, for serving as mentors over the years, as well as their "amazing customers, friends, and extended family," and loyal employees.

As far as their future goes, owners Scott and Crystal end the announcement by saying:

"Now, it’s time for us to find a new routine, relax, and enjoy some well-earned downtime."

About Comfort Food 154

According to the post, Comfort Food 154's journey began back in September of 2018. A 2019 article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette says that the food truck's name was a reference to the childhood home in SW Cedar Rapids that owner Scott grew up in. After purchasing the food truck that used to be owned by former pizza place Phat Daddy's, Comfort Food 154 was born!
