Check Out 50+ Adorable Iowa Kitties on National Cat Day 2025 [GALLERY]

Sleepy cats, silly cats, stubborn cats, and sweet cats... we love them all!

October 29th is National Cat Day, a day to celebrate our feline friends of all ages, colors, sizes, and temperaments! I absolutely adore cats, but unfortunately, my body does not. I'm incredibly allergic to them. I did grow up with a couple of cats, though! My best friend was an orange tabby named George. He was the silliest little weirdo, and the reason that orange cats remain my favorite to this day.

In honor of this wonderful holiday, we asked listeners to introduce us to their adorable kitties! Here are some of our favorites that were submitted on Facebook:

Speaking of cats, did you know that Iowa is home to a couple of cat cafes & lounges? They're businesses where you can pay a small fee to play with cats for a set amount of time. And, the best part is that all the cats are ADOPTABLE! In fact, there's one in Iowa City that just opened in February, and they've already had more than 150 adoptions. It's called Kitty Corner Social Club, and it's located at 20 S Clinton Street. The lounge is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can read more about Kitty Corner's success HERE.

The other Iowa cat cafe you can check out at 312 5th St in West Des Moines called Coffee Cats Cafe. They're open Tuesday & Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
