One thing I have learned about Iowa after living here for nearly four years is that its residents are pretty darn proud of their state.

While the Hawkeye State does not have any major league sports teams, Iowans are cheering for college sports with just as much or even more enthusiasm compared to an NFL or MLB team.

However, what part of the state is the absolute best place to live?

Is it Des Moines because of its thriving cultural scene?

Is it Cedar Falls because of its quality of life?

Or is it a small town in the middle of Iowa's rich farmland?

How Was This Status Determined?

This ranking is based off of Niche's 2023 rankingsThe factors that Niche used to formulate this list include cost of living, educational attainment, housing, and public schools.

So, what is the Best Place to Live in Iowa?

Based off of all of this information, the "best" place in Iowa to live is...

University Heights!

This suburb in Johnson County has a population of 1,381. University Heights is located not too far away from the University of Iowa campus, so it is a perfect place for any Hawkeye fans to live.

Since it is so close, it is a popular spot for university faculty, staff, and students to reside in.
