Iowa Shoppers Warned: ‘Yellowstone’ Beans Recalled for Allergy Hazard
When you're at the grocery store, do you ever find yourself staring at the shelves, wondering, 'Why are there so many options for [X product]?'
I often do. Because there are so many options for, in this case, baked beans, it may not surprise you that we have another recall story to discuss today.
This recall isn't because wood could be in the product; it's because of a possible unlisted allergen. But what makes this one unique, it's a product based on a very popular franchise.
Iowa and Illinois are Impacted by the Recall
The recall we'll be discussing impacts 23 states, including Iowa and Illinois. The product is one based on the popular TV show "Yellowstone."

In case you didn't know, there are Yellowstone-branded baked beans available for purchase at Hy-Vee and Walmart stores in Iowa and Illinois. Beans make sense, I suppose, after all, Yellowstone beans seem more fitting than, say, a Yellowstone cereal aimed at 11-year-olds.
Why The Yellowstone Beans Are Recalled
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued the recall based on an undeclared ingredient: soy.
In their statement online, the FDA warns,
Individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.
The beans are produced by Vietti Food Group, which says that no illnesses or “adverse reactions” have been reported since the recall was issued earlier this month.
Recalled are the Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans, sold in a 15-ounce can with this label:
Each recalled can contains a best if used by Feb 17, 2028 date.
